McArdle Sport Tec carry out the indoor 3G pitch refurbishment at the Wolves Academy Arena.

Situated at the Sir Jack Haywards Training Ground also known as Compton Park; McArdle Sport Tec was honoured when we were awarded our fourth artificial turf sports pitch project with the Premier League club.

Renowned for their exceptional training facilities, Wolverhampton Wanderers Training Ground has been awarded the Category One status, the highest distinction in the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) which is extremely hard to achieve. Academies are independently audited and given a Category status of 1 to 4, with 1 being the most elite

Indoor 3G Pitch:

In 2014, McArdle installed the indoor 3G pitch at the Wolves Academy Arena which is situated within Compton Park; the artificial turf pitch had been used extensively for coaching and nurturing young footballers at the Academy; but after 10 years of intensive use the old TigerTurf Soccer Real Turf was due for resurfacing.

It took 18 days for McArdle to undertake the refurbishment, resurfacing the pitch with TigerTurf’s Premier Pro 50 artificial turf system.  We were delighted to hand the facility back to the club in June with minimal downtime and disruption to the Academy’s classes and schedule.

3G Football Pitch:

In addition to the indoor pitch, McArdle Sport Tec also installed the full-size 3G turf pitch infield an existing athletics track located at Wolves Training Ground at Compton Park. We originally installed the synthetic football pitch in 2009 and were appointed in 2020 by Wolves to refurbish the 3G football pitch with TigerTurf’s Premier Pro 50mm carpet.

2014 – McArdle install the indoor full-size 3G pitch and outdoor tennis courts at the Wolves     Academy Arena (Compton Park)

2020 – McArdle refurbish the full-size 3G pitch at Compton Park 

2024 – McArdle refurbish the indoor 3G pitch at Wolves Academy Arena (Compton Park)
