Our Construction Process
1. PROJECT DESIGN
After meeting the clients on site our estimations & design team will design the new pitch layout and cost the job.
Once the pitch proposals have passed through planning it is ready to start. The Contracts Manager will assemble their team of Site Managers.
3. SITE SET UP
Including the erection of a site office, temporary fencing and setting out where the pitch will go. Heavy plant equipment will be brought to the site.
The heavy machinery will demolish any buildings (if required). They will clear the site and strip the topsoil or remove the existing carpet. Cut and fill, the gradient is decided for the pitch.
Perforated drainage pipe is installed in the formation and permeable stone layer is laid on top. The engineer sets out the kerb line, creating a neat edge boundary ready for the macadam layer.
6. SHOCK PAD
Depending on the design a suitable shock pad is laid upon the macadam layer ready to receive the new synthetic surface.
New rolls of turf are delivered to the site; made specifically for the job to ensure there is a little wastage. The turf is unrolled and the edge of each strip is glued down until the whole pitch is covered. It is at this stage the pitch will be in-filled with rubber crumb or sand.
8. LINE MARKINGS
The pitch line markings are cut into the carpet and glued down. These markings vary depending on the sport to be played on the surface.
Fence posts are concreted into the ground at regular intervals, the panels are then bolted onto the posts.
The floodlighting column bases are concreted into the ground; a trench is dug around the pitch to lay the cabling. The columns are then mounted on the bases and floodlight fittings installed.
Once the pitch is complete it is handed over to the client. Some projects have field testing at this stage to determine the pitch accreditation.
