TILSLEY PARK
THE VALE OF WHITE HORSE DISTRICT COUNCIL CHOSE MCARDLE SPORT TEC TO REFURBISH THE EXISTING TWO SYNTHETIC HOCKEY PITCHES.
McArdle Sport Tec resurfaced the two full size, floodlit, sand-dressed synthetic pitches at Tilsley Park in Abingdon; which is Oxfordshire’s premier football, athletic centre and home to Abingdon Hockey Club.
The contract was awarded to McArdle Sport Tec by the District Council; we were particularly keen to be involved in this project as Tilsley Park is local to our head office. Some of our staff members and their partners play on these synthetic hockey pitches with their local sporting clubs.
Our team resurfaced the hockeys pitches in 2013, , we used Lano Hockey Revolution artificial turf carpet, the installation took thirteen weeks to complete.
Pitch 1 required uplifting the redundant carpet and replacing it with a blue Lano carpet with a red surround, designed for hockey and multi-use games.Pitch 2 required more work, removing the old shock pad and replacing with a new 15mm in-situ shock pad and matching blue artificial turf with red surrounds.
Tilsley Park has been leased to Abingdon School on a long-term basis with effect from September 2014. As part of the joint plan, the School will extend the site’s opening hours, making it easier for clubs and local residents to benefit from the fantastic facilities on offer.
