Reading Football Club
Bearwood Park – New Football Training Ground

McArdle Sport Tec were delighted to have been appointed as the Main Contractor to construct an impressive and modern football training ground at Bearwood Park for Reading Football Club.
This prestigious state-of-the-art facility comprises 11 football pitches including a first team training pitch with undersoil heating, an artificial grass pitch & two full-sized hybrid stitched natural turf pitches.
In addition to the sports pitches, McArdle Sport Tec also built two new visitors’ changing rooms, refurbished the existing grade II listed Park Lodge and constructed the first team pitch and visitors’ car park.
Reading Football Club purchased 120 acres of land in 2013 to enable the new development. The land historically was once part of the Windsor forest & Royal hunting grounds, later redeveloped in 1970 as Bearwood Golf Club.
Reading Football Club are one of the oldest teams in England, established in 1871, and currently play in the Championships. Known to their fans as ‘The Royals’, their mantra is ‘Build, Evolve and Succeed’.
These new facilities are vital for Reading Football Club to sustain the Category One Academy status, and to withstand the growing demands of this progressive football club.
