McArdle Sport Tec were appointed to design and build a new 3g pitch in Leicestershire.

Newbridge High School Academy worked in partnership with Leicestershire and Rutland FA to secure a grant from the Football Foundation. The new 3G surface was to be the first of its kind in North West Leicestershire, an area where the FA had designated as a prime spot for investment. With the Academy keen to avoid the downtime and degradation associated with natural turf, the synthetic sports pitch installation proved to be the ideal solution.
McArdle Sport Tec were chosen to design and build the 107m x 71m 3G AGP which was complete with a floodlighting system. The brand new sports pitch construction was accompanied by pitch drainage, goal recesses, hard-standing areas, footpaths and a new car parking area.
The pitch was handed over in September 2013 after a 14-week installation programme. The official Football Foundation opening ceremony and football tournament was led by former Leicester City FC captain, Steve Walsh, who made over 400 appearances for the club. Since the opening, the pitch has become a focus of community involvement and has proved to be a huge boost for local sport.
Across Leicestershire, the Football Foundation has awarded 132 grants worth £13m towards grassroots sports projects.
