Proud to continue our Long-standing working relationship with Manchester United Football Club.

McArdle Sport Tec understand that professional players require the best playing surfaces on which to perform, and that only the very best will do for such a high-calibre club. We are proud to have installed numerous pitches for Manchester United at their training ground.

2001: We designed a ‘caged’ outdoor artificial football pitch at their Carrington Training Ground. The 3G Football pitch was enclosed by nets to confine the balls. We also installed an indoor 3G pitch at Manchester United’s The Cliff Training Ground in Salford. We received very positive feedback from the Football club and this was the start of many future pitch projects working closely with Clive Snell, the Facility Manager at Manchester United.

“Our first Artificial pitch was a 40m x 40m installed in a caged area. We were able to work with McArdle Sport Tec to ensure that this synthetic playing surface was used as a trial area and brought to the playing characteristics required by our coaching staff. McArdle’s team worked very hard to ensure this was achieved and we are very grateful for their flexibility. We were then able to use these trials to ensure that the new surfaces installed at the Academy were of identical standard.” – Clive Snell.

2002: In 2002, we were appointed once again, to construct the first full-size artificial football pitch at the Trafford Training Centre in Carrington.

2009: When the indoor 3G training pitch at Carrington training ground was due for refurbishment , Manchester United contacted McArdle Sport Tec once again. We installed 4,800sqm of Lano’s Profoot MXSi system, possibly the most advanced 3G artificial carpet system on the market at the time.

Clive Snell, Facilities Manager at Carrington, stated that Manchester United were “delighted with the installation”.

Unfortunately, shortly after the artificial pitch refurbishment , an external film crew who were recording on-site caused significant damage to the surface as they broke a light fixture which contaminated the surface with glass shards and burnt the artifical grass carpet. The club called us back a week before Christmas to replace the artificial football pitch surface which we managed to completed in-time for Christmas.

2012: , We were contacted by the club once more, to design and build an additional 3G cage and a polymeric surface. We used Lano Profoot MXSi60 for the artificial turf pitch to match the indoor artificial playing surface which we installed in 2009.
