HOLMES CHAPEL COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL

McArdle Sport Tec were given the task of designing and building a new 3G pitch at Holmes Chapel School in Cheshire.

McArdle Sport Tec were happy to have been appointed as the pitch contractor for the new 3G artificial turf pitch at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School. Working in conjunction with Gillespies Landscape Architects, we were able to develop a solution that met with the client’s requirements and budget.

The project involved the construction of a full-size 3G artificial turf pitch along with fencing, floodlighting, athletics facilities and extensive landscape works. The existing school playing fields were in poor condition due to difficult drainage and ground conditions which restricted the frequency that the pitches could be used in the winter months.

We carefully selected TigerTurf’s Soccer Real 60mm pile height 3G turf laid upon an engineered macadam pitch base. Tested to FIFA Quality, Soccer Real 60XQ is a third generation product that has been designed with the player in mind. A combination of unique yarn design, innovative backing structure and two tone fibre blend produces a natural looking, resilient and highly durable surface with an eight-year guarantee.

The new facility was installed in the hope it will dramatically improve the physical education and teaching facilities of the school; it will also be a great asset to local residents and clubs as the intention is that the pitch can be used for community use at evenings and weekends.

Once the new pitch was unveiled, the school held a 5-a-side tournament with help from a special guest former student and pro footballer Dean Ashton.
